Our first stop was at a nice little cafe where we had coffee and chatted a bit. They also showed us their wine cellar (most houses in Moldova have this) where they make their own wine and pickle their vegetables.

The final trek up to the monastery had to be done on foot.

Legend says that if you walk around this cross three times and then make a prayer, God will hear and answer you.

These caves are underneath the monastery in the cliff wall. Monks come here and spend hours with no food or water, just praying and meditating.
