We were in Sochi for the Opening Ceremonies but we didn't have tickets. It was a lot of fun to sit in a cafe with all Russians watching the ceremonies on TV.

The next morning we braved the crowds to try to get our spectator passes. We got lucky in more ways than one and got out of there quickly with two passes.

We rented an apartment in downtown Adler on airBnB. It was a cute little apartment with a great view of the mountains and the Black Sea.

During lunch I was accosted by a drunken Russian man. It didn't matter how many times I told him that I don't speak Russian, he kept trying.

Our first event was the prelims of the individual men's Ski Jumping K-95 at 8:30PM on Saturday evening.

Ski jumping was held at the Russki Gorki jumping complex. These guys flew incredible distances!
