Upon Sara and my completion of our contract with SFS-Qatar, we decided to do a bit of traveling before heading home. We started with a 6 week tour of southern Africa, beginning in Tanzania. We flew into Dar es Salaam, headed to Zanzibar for a few wonderful days, and then took a bus across the country to Mbeya, a town on the border with Malawi. (2007-01-06 through 12)

Mom, Dad and Julie came to visit me in Qatar for Christmas. (2006-12-26 through 31)

Sara and I visited Athens for Christmas with Mike, Molly and Maya McHarg. Since we were living in Qatar, it was great to be in a country that really understood Christmas and celebrated it right. (2006-12-20 through 26)

Sara and I took a long weekend in Sana'a. We stayed pretty close to the capital city, since there have been problems with kidnappings out in the countryside. (2006-12-14 through 16)

I returned with Sara to do more sightseeing. In addition to seeing Beirut we visited Byblos, Jeita Grotto, and Baalbek. (2006-11-22 through 25)

Sara, Ed and I took an Eid vacation to visit my friend Elizabeth who was in te Peace Corps in Tenado, Burkina Faso. (2006-10-22 through 30)

Sara, Ed and I were on an Eid trip to from Qatar to Burkina Faso. En route we stayed a weekend in Morocco, visiting the cities of Marrakesh and Casablanca. (2006-10-20 through 22)

Sara and I hand a great trip to Sri Lanka. The people were friendly, the hotels were top notch, the meals were fantastic, and of course the signature tea was unbeatable. I highly recommend a trip.. (2006-09-20 through 25)
